Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) provides knowledge and understanding of safe and healthy relationships based on respect. This is to encourage the development of safe and healthy relationships throughout life. RSE involves a combination of sharing information, and exploring issues and values. The subject is designed to help children from all backgrounds build positive and safe relationships, and to thrive in modern Britain.
As part of this new statutory subject, schools are required to consult with parents when developing and reviewing their policy for Relationships and Sex Education, to help inform our decisions on when and how certain content is covered. Consultation will open Monday, March 23rd and finish on Friday, April 3rd.
You will be able to provide your comments two ways:
- ONLINE: A copy of the policy will be available for you to view and a form available for you to complete online. Both will be accessible from Monday, March 23rd and finish on Friday, April 3rd.
- Meeting: There will be two evenings available for you to attend school, to meet with Mrs Edwards and Ms Callaghan. You will receive an overview of the programme and be invited to comment on the policy. The evenings are:
