2019 Examination Results
We are delighted that the attainment and progress of our students continues to exceed their expected potential, with Newland School for Girls again ranking amongst the top school in the city.
Progress score for 2019 is +0.141 and for 2018 was +0.15. We are in the very small number of secondary schools in Hull that have positive progress for our students. The national average is -0.02
The percentage of student achieving a Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths 1s 23%, and 42% achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths. This ensures that our girls are well equipped to take the next steps in their education.
Science is our strongest EBacc subject with value added exceeding +0.344. 60.8% of our pupils are entered for Ebacc and 15% achieve at a strong pass.
100% of our pupils are placed within education or training when they leave school. For 2017 leavers 86% are still within education and training two years after they have left us. This was a similar situation the previous academic year for 2016 school leavers who saw 87% still in education and training 2 years after they have left us.
We are delighted with the progress made by all of our students and the school’s progress 8 score is positive meaning that students at Newland School for Girls make better progress than other students nationally whatever their starting point.
