The Tempest Shakespeare Schools Festival
17th November saw 17 of our students share their version of The Tempest at the national, annual Shakespeare Schools Festival, University of Hull. Our version of the classic comedy was set in deepest space, to where Prospero was banished with his daughter, Miranda, left to find an existence amongst the space junk and the ruins of his life. The soundtrack, by David Bowie, combined with the physical theatre approach told the story of how the rebellious bad guys learnt their lessons after crashing their spaceship on Prospero’s planet in a galactic storm. Festival directors praised the pace and communication of the piece, complementing the cast on their original approach and professionalism. The cast are looking forward to next year’s performance!
